Lemon Balm is a plant native to the Mediterranean region and has been used as a medicinal herb for hundreds of years.
Though some claim Lemon Balm has antiviral and antibacterial properties, most know it for its ability to calm nerves.
It can help relieve you in times of high stress and anxiety. While some people are known to benefit greatly from Lemon Balm, others hardly notice a difference.
I must say that Lemon Balm doesn’t have quite the calming effect I’m looking for but it does take the edge off of stress. I take Solaray Lemon Balm which retails for under eight dollars on Amazon.
While it may not have the same punch as prescription strength Xanax it may be enough to help pull you through some tough times.
One mistake people often make is not taking Lemon Balm long enough. You’ll probably need to take Lemon Balm for at least a few days to see some results.
Lemon Balm can be enjoyed as a tea or through capsule. It’s considered safe when taken as directed with no known side effects.
Is this herb a long time solution for stress and anxiety? I wouldn’t recommend it as a long term solution. You should also incorporate other stress relieving techniques like breathing exercises and meditation while taking Lemon Balm.
But if you’re too busy to take care of your body then managing stress can be as easy as popping a pill.
